CGIL will celebrate its 19th confederal congress in Rimini from 15 to 18 March 2023.

Workplace level assemblies have been taking place until December 2022 followed by congresses at all levels: local, federation, regional, national in the run-up to the national confederal congress.

Two congress statements have been presented, including “Work creates the future” signed by the general secretary Maurizio Landini and by an overwhelming majority of members of the national executive committee. The versions in Italian, English, Spanish and French of our Congress statements can be found below.

CGIL Congress will also host an international delegation of unionists from Africa, Asia, the Americas and Europe. On March 15th a briefing for the international guests followed by an event to launch our international network against fascism and discrimination where we will try to highlight the role of collective bargaining and of a society based on solidarity to defeat extreme right movements.

The Congress will be officially opened at 2 pm on March 15 and will conclude on March 18th with the election of the national executive committee which will elect the general secretary.
