On March 29th, a deputation of CGIL, led by the Confederal Secretary Giuseppe Massafra, left from Rome towards the border between Slovakia and Ukraine to bring the humanitarian aid that was collected in the previous weeks to refugees who fled the bombs: from food to products for hygiene and early childhood.

The first stop was in Vienna, where there was a meeting with the Austrian trade union OGB. Immediately afterwards, the delegation moved to Bratislava to greet the Slovak trade union. On Wednesday 30 March, they arrived at Sobrance refugee center, where the goods were directly delivered to the Ukrainian union FPU, which is involved in the management of the humanitarian emergency in the area.

The three thousand four hundred thirty-six kilometer round trip was documented on the website www.collettiva.it and on CGIL social networks.
