Charter of Universal Workers Rights: leaflets in English, French, Arabic and Spanish available for downloadThe Italian labour market has undergone significant changes in the last few years at the expenses of overall protection of workers. The recently introduced legislation (amongst others, the so-called Jobs Act) has been passed without involvement of the social partners and has undermined several standards including changes on unjustified terminations and lacks a real safety net for people who lose their jobs and for precarious workers. The Executive Committee of Cgil decided in December 2015 to launch an extensive consultation of its members on a proposal for a re-writing of the Italian labour market legislation: the “Charter of Universal Workers Rights”.

On April 9th, Susanna Camusso - CGIL Secretary General - announced the results of the consultation: 41.705 assemblies have been organised, 1.466.697 workers participated in the vote and 98.49% voted in favour.CGIL is now collecting signatures for a citizens' initiative that will be presented to the Italian Parliament for discussion and hopefully approval.Download the English version here - Téléchargez la version française ici - Descargar la versión española aquiتحميل النسخة بالعربية هنا:
